One of the many issues with writing miniseries is that each book, while containing a romance between two characters, doesnt always resolve the entire storyline.
Such is the case with Carbon Copy Cowboy, one of the entries in the Texas Twins miniseries. The story concerns two sets of twins, Violet and Maddie and Grayson and Jack, who were somehow separated while very young but who reconnect as adults while all are living in Texas.
This story concerns cowboy Jack Colby, who witnesses an auto accident that claims the memory of beautiful Kendra whos wearing a bridal veil and jeans but who cannot remember how or why she came to be in the red sportscar. Jack invites Kendra to stay at his ranch, which is something nobody in their right mind would do. Shes a complete stranger and doesnt know herself, but somehow (through the magic of plot), she becomes close with Violet and Maddie.
Jack is upset at having a twin brother he knows nothing about. Clues are strewn throughout the novels, and theres a mysterious, frumpy church secretary named Sadie who appears in many of the books (including this one), but any revelations about her will have to wait.
Much like Kendras amnesia, this book is forgettable. Theres not much character development because the series isnt finished. The plot contrivances are many: Violet just happens to fall for Maddies ex-fiance. Maddie just happens to find love with Ty, Jacks ranch foreman. Kendra just happens to remember living on a ranch or farm, and helps Jack with his daily chores. Kendra just happens to be the same size as Maddie and Violet and can borrow their clothes. My willing suspension of disbelief only goes so far.
