I was really looking forward to catching up with Essie again four years later and seeing if she finally met the man she was waiting for. This book was fairly good... but it was more from Tony's point of view and I'd rather have gotten to know Essie's heart and feelings rather than his. There was much less mentioned about her being a Christian than the last novel, just one sequence at the July 4th picnic and we found out Tony was a Christian at the end when he offhandedly mentioned it. Surprising since Gist made that an important part of Essie's first story. I wouldn't really classify this as Christian fiction because there were none of the "lessons" that normally accompany it. Mrs. Lockhart is awesome in this sequel though, you will enjoy her point of view, it eventually starts making you laugh once you know the path she's going to go down!
