Cute little hardcover. The Book of Kells has long been regarded as the supreme achievment of Celtic art. Surviving Viking raids, theft and a muddy burial, the manuscript is world famous for its exquisite designs, its beautifully luxuriant decoration and its stunningly intricate detail. The wonder and envy of calligraphers for over a millenium, the book is probably the world's greatest illuminated manuscript.
