It looks like Darcey's father will hang for murder. Not just the police, but both Darcy and his father are convinced of his father's guilt. So Darcy, to save Georgiana life-long embarrassment, breaks his engagement to her. Poor Darcy, he just doesn't understand the power of a woman's love.

While this mystery seemed more laid back than previous ones in the series, Rhys Bowen introduces a number of new characters which make the story delightful. And who would have guessed Queenie, Georgiana's maid, had such hidden talents.
