Yippee, more Mira Grant!
So here we have tapeworms! I never thought I'd read a novel about intestinal parasites. We've got an author here who likes to make her readers squirm just a bit. But the most squirmful moments are the ones you get because you just want to learn a little bit more and do things like look up "botfly extraction" on youtube. (Yeah, you don't want to do that.) The novel itself just barely hints at the squirm. Most of your discomfort comes from how your dreams launch from what's mentioned in the text.
I was impressed with Grant's characters in her prior books, and I'm equally impressed here. I *like* the people she creates, and eagerly consume the stories they tell.
This is definitely the first in a series of books, for which I'm grateful. I'm very much looking forward to the next.
5 of 5 stars.
