This book is a triple romance, a mystery, (spoiler) and a ghost story.
Issues with book that lowered my rating: Two seemingly disparate stories finally truly converge at the end. ( one starts in 1974, the main one set in present day) I was troubled for much of the book wondering how and when the two timelines would finally intertwine.
Set in England, there are some British cliches I never figured out despite my having a lot of exposure to Brit lit......had to resort to questioning my daughter who studied abroad in London and worked there for 6 months after graduation.
Though it ends as a feel-good story, the characters never grabbed me enough to emotionally invest in this tale, though Portia stands out as the one to really hate.
