Wonderful discription of the science of climate and the impact of climate on human civilization. It could be a text on the history of science for it's even handed treament of the debate over climate change. At times is is a little deep in scientific explanation but it is definitely not beyond a laymans grasp. I found it an informative, enlightening, interesting and perspective broadening read.
