Interesting story about the history of Dracula and Eastern Europe. This is not a bloody, scary story; instead, it details the lives of a few historians, who got caught up in the Dracula tale.
The first 150 pages are quite slow, and I found Kostova's style of putting the entire story in quotation marks very confusing and unnecessary. There were points in the book when the story was in quotes within quotes within quotes. Otherwise, she is a very good writer, providing plenty of detail and character development.
