I don't know why so many people were hating on this book. It was beautifully written. Although many of the events depicted are tragic, it is ultimately a story about forgiveness.
There were a couple of aspects that were frustrating (the details of the event that is the bedrock of the story are never illuminated, and why does Ethan get his own chapter?) but I found the experience immersive.
