What a refresing forensic mystery! This is what Patricia Cornwell promised with her first few books and then ceased to deliver. Well-done science, a believable, likable protagonist, good plot. (Cornwell's Kay Scarpetta has, for me, become so neurotic and relationdship-impaired that I want to do bodily harm to her!)

A tad slow to read at the beginning as she sets the pace, but not plodding and still captivating. Definitely heats up as it progresses. I DID figure out the villain before she did, but it was still a very fun read. I definitely want to read the next one!
