This story is pretty good, kind of like a spaghetti western you watch on some lazy weekend while mostly napping on the couch. You get a good dose of horses, indians, and beans cooked on a campfire. Most unusual, you get two men who love each other and the bad guy is, literally, from hell. As usual in BA Tortuga books you get short, choppy sentences and not much in the way of character development. You don't know much more about the two heros at the end than you did when you finished the first 10 paragraphs. Explanations or justifications for characters' actions or plot elements are left to the reader's imagination. But the story is different and the ending is HEA, what more could you want for a couple hours of entertainment?
