I think I'm done with Sands. Her last few books have been such disappointments. It's like she is destroying all the cool characters she has created in the past. I used to love Anders but this has to be one of the dullest book I have ever read.
It started out promising enough but went nowhere for a long time. I wished Sands had spent more time hunting the rogue because Anders and Valerie did not have enough to keep my interests. I missed all the humor and clever dialogue Sands used to employ. This one was just flat, even the scenes with everyone was a bit boring.
On top of that a lot of things didn't quite add up. I'm not sure why it never crossed Valerie's mind that Anders might be working with the Rogue. She follows him to another abandoned farmhouse because she is curious that all the other captives were brainwashed? This is after her escape from imprisonment from another abandoned farmhouse.
Anyway, the book was pretty bad and I had to force myself to finish it. If this is your first time reading Sands, her earlier stuff is better. Plus this is not one you would start with. You'll just confuse with all the characters.
