I've always been fascinated with the era of Henry the Eighth and his six wives. Anne Boleyn is probably the most infamous of all six, but so little is known about her. Now this book is purely fiction but it is soundly based in historical fact as much as any book that pretends to be someone's personal diary can be. A nice touch was the fact that you are reading the book in the person of Elizabeth the First, her daughter and eventual Queen, who finds this diary at a time when she is very new to the throne and trying to decide her own fate.
A really good read if you are interested in this time or in the wives of Henry. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
