I really enjoy reading K.K. Beck. Her stories are so different and entertaining. While I still have more of her books to read, she apparently stopped writing about seven years ago.
This book is part of a four novel series with a female protagonist. "Jane de Silva" is a strong woman with a humorous outlook on life, except when she is poor. While doing pro bono investigations into lost causes, which gets her money from her uncle's foundation, she also does some side gigs. In this book she works as a lounge singer again, which places her on the spot when a murder is committed at a salmon fishery convention. I especially enjoyed the book as salmon is my favorite fish for supper. :-)
