What an amazingly crazy childhood! As much as this book disturbed me and made my stomach turn at times it was interestingly captivating. I found it to be a very easy read and couldn't wait to see what happened next. I am actually going to order the next book just to see how it continues. I didn't think my childhood was easy but compared to Augusten it was a fairy tale. Having 2 teenage boys of my own I cant imagine them having to go through the things that he went through and how that would effect their personalities. I am glad to see that he has become a successful person because many people use dysfunctional homes as an excuse in adulthood. I would recommend this book to anyone who thinks they had it hard as a child.
