Something has mysteriously killed off all the men on earth except one--20-something Yorick. He's only interested in finding his girlfriend in Australia, but the US government and man-hating Amazons have other ideas.
Vaughan does an excellent job depicting a world that suddenly consists entirely of women. He doesn't take the idealistic, kumbaya approach, but instead accurately depicts the broad spectrum of personalities that exist among women just as they do among men. The full-color artwork is intriguing, and the depictions of the cities on the east coast of the US are quite accurate. I look forward to reading the rest of the series, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys graphic novels and is intrigued by the concept.
