A young girl goes though her day as though she's the president. She hands out flags to everyone, solves squabbles, gives speeches, and vetos school lunch. At the end, the ambassador of Freedonia arrives just as she's going to bed. She presents her doll to the cat and tells him that the ambassador can see the vice president.
Why I recommend it: It's a fun book to read and to illustrate what the president does. The girl takes her job very seriously.
