I finished this book in one night. It reads like a Shakespearean tragedy mixed with Southern noir. The chapters written in Billy's voice are heartbreaking. There is a whodunnit mystery, but the strength of this book is how it deomonstrates the importance of sports to a rural town that has nothing else to cheer for and ultimately the bonds of blood and family.
