It's impossible to read this book without recalling the greed and pious hypocrisy of Jim and Tammy Faye Baker as they led their congregation of believers. The three pastors' wives featured in this novel are Candace, Ruthie and Ginger, whose husbands serve the members of an evangelical, southern megachurch, Greenleaf. Candace is the imperious, manipulative "first lady"; Ruthie, the newest pastor's wife, is the disillusioned; and Ginger, the daughter-in-law of Candace, is damaged and fragile. If you are looking for a book of substance that will stay with you, this is not for you. It is ridden with cliches and plot predictability.
