Kendra Kenny Lugo is the main character. Gender confused and going through high school trying to hide her femininity, Kenny grapples with thoughts of an accidental murder that took place next door, what will happen to her when she turns eighteen and is no longer her Aunt Glos ward, her sexuality (or lack thereof), and questions of what to do with her life. The story is narrated by Kenny and I believe this allows the reader to get in Kennys head and experience the events right along with her. The other characters, all play an important part in the story, but the story remains Kennys. Different, but thought provoking.
