Cassie's abusive background and subsequent new life and identity was really engaging. I also enjoyed the quick relationship build-up since Shane fell for her fast and hard. You see how their love develops and how they get used to one another since Shane was the overbearing, protective sort. But when her ex-husband reappears half way through the story, it lost some steam--classic too little, too late--to make it an interesting focus anymore, and it sort of limped along to an anti-climatic finish. Even though the Chase brothers are the type of hunks I like to read about, this was only an average read--3 star material.
