Twelfth in the Longmire series, and with the usual serious investigation mixed with some dry humor.
It's a good read but it's lacking in the spiritual bits that Johnson usually includes. With Walt away from Absaroka County again, we don't see anyone from the office except Vic who is her usual profane self. I wanted to know more about how Lola so captivated Henry 30 years ago; we leave this book knowing only a tiny bit more than we did, and she's not a nice person. The whole business with Bidarte is still hanging fire so I'm sure we'll see more about that later (frankly, those types of story arcs are not my favorite, but oh well). I like seeing how many people Walt knows around the state, and how they trust him to take care of matters. I loved the MRAP vehicle and its eventual use, that was very funny.
