Summary:
George Bailey works at a local college, but has these amazing dreams of saving the universe. When a young girl tells him of this alternate world filled with zombies and that he's a hero, he doesn't believe her. He thinks that she's just crazy, but things between reality and dreams are shifting and George may not know what to believe anymore.
My thoughts:
I have not read the previous three installments of this series, and this was a bad place to start. While I loved the character development of George and the adventures that he has, I was a little lost. It sounds like a lot of other building, especially of the other heroes was done in the previous books and since they are still big players in this book, you need information about them. Also, the little girl, Madelyn seems to know a lot and is pushing George constantly through the book. It sounds as if she was introduced in previous books as well. So, with that being said, I take responsibility that I did not read them in order and that may be why I did not love the book. As a superhero book in general though, this was a lot of fun. It is fast paced with a large amount of action. George goes back and forth between this normal janitor type and the hero that he dreams of. Also, there is a lot of teamwork and trust needed throughout the group. I enjoyed that mixture and think that I'll now travel backwards to read the other ones.
