Anya Kalinczyk is an arson investigator by day and a demon hunter by night. Her special powers as a Lantern (one who can swallow ghosts) help her with both jobs. She feels very isolated by her powers and the medium that is with her at all times, Sparky. Sparky is a salamander and very protective and ergo the isolationism that she feels in forming relationships.
Anya comes across an investigation that is hard to understand until she meets someone who is a Lantern also, but with much more evil ideas about how to use his powers.
This was my first foray into Urban Fantasy and it was well worth the time. Will definitely look forward to reading the next installment in this series and will look forward to reading more from Laura Bickle.
