I finished Charming The Prince by Teresa Medeiros also. This was a historical book set around medieval times. Willow is a mistreated lady who has been taking care of her stepmother's awful children for 13 years while her simpering papa allows it. Lord Bannor decides he needs a mother for his children (he has a dozen or more illegitimate ones residing in his castle). He sends his Steward Hollis to find him a bride...with specific instructions that she must be mother material, not very pretty, and maybe even a little fat. Hollis sees Willow from a distance and thinks she is the one. When he realizes his mistake (Willow is thin and beautiful) the deed is already done and he has married her by-proxy (I think that is the word) for Lord Bannor. She agrees because anything is better then Stepmother Blanche and her sniveling horrid children. Or so she thinks...she then meets Bannor's kids. This book was also written in the mid 90's and back then I was on a little Medeiros binge and read a handful of her books. I think this was one of them because it all sounded so familiar. Of course when you have a "Cinderella" type storyline they all kind of sound similar. This book was rather funny in spots and the ending just made me a fan again of Medeiros. I was contemplating between 4 and 4 1/2 stars but I think the cheesy phrases of the time referring to silky nether curls and Pearly Dew annoyed me enough to give the book 4 stars. To me this means you should definitely read this book but it isn't necessarily a keeper.
