A whodunit which is a little different. A teenage girl is murdered and the police quickly zero in on an obvious suspect. A lot of time is given to the two main police officers and their developing relationship, the opinion of the townspeople, whose comments we read in the newspaper, and how the case is affecting the various people involved. In the end, the "isolated incident" might not be so isolated after all.
