I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Shea was confused in the beginning. Her memories of her past incarnations are beginning to break thru, but she doesn't realize what is happening. Her aunt Maira was burned as a witch 10 years previously, and Shea has been watched by the government to see if she has the same abilities. She doesn't trust anyone, and although she does not believe herself to be a witch, she uproots herself and moves whenever she begins to feel threatened.

Torin is Shea's Eternal. A warrior who has followed Shea throughout all her lifetimes just waiting for her powers to awaken. He rescues Shea from a group of citizens who saw her kill a mugger in the school parking lot. The Magic Police had been called and Shea was about to be taken to an interment camp.

The action in this book never seems to stop. There were several sex scenes, but nothing overly graphic (darn!). This would have been a terrific erotic book! The relationship between Shea and Torin is stormy. Shea has to work to trust Torin, even when it is obvious that he only wants to keep her safe.

The premise of the book promises several more installments. I will definitely be reading the next book. I want to know Rune's story, and Kellyn's.
