Can't say much for this--hoped it would be a 'creepy' story but alas! it's nothing!
I admit I didn't finish it but by page 150 there just wasn't anything happening, so much about the surroundings of the house, and the people are written like outback idiots, I don't know if this was suppose to be a 'gothic' type story or what, it involves a family moving to an 'isolated' location in New York? What? Is anywhere in the US isolated? I thought it was going to involve a 'creature' in the woods but again---nothing happening.
For a first novel by Duffy it doesn't make me want to read anything else from him, this has been compared to Stephen King? I don't read King anymore either, he just went off his rocker with his long drawn out nothings of stories!
