Excellent continuation of a series I really like. One thing I like about Lily is she is able to rescue herself most of the time. Granted, she doesn't always make the best decision (oh like confronting the individuals that broke into her store instead of calling the police), but she is more than capable of taking care of herself.

One of my annoyances though, is while she has become friends with a core group of people, she doesn't trust them. I would have liked to see more trust (and sharing with them the murder, etc) on her part. They have proved to be open minded and supportive, both concepts Lily needs and is unfamiliar with given her history. Speaking of her history, a little more is learned. Not much, but a morsel.

I didn't understand her loyalty to her dad given their history.

Oscar continues to be hilarious and one of my favorite characters. I am very happy a certain someone is back in Lily's life having left abruptly in the last book.

Lastly, this is one of my favorite quotes from the book given some of the recent happenings here in the US: "Why is it that so often, it's the most fortunate of the world who feel sorry for themselves?"
