Joe Pitt is a vampyre, living in NY infested with vampyre gangs. He has been infected with a vyrus, which makes him eat blood and renders him ultrasensitive to UV light, but also gives him eternal youth and supernatural strength. The book is like a Michael Connelly novel, if Harry Bosch were a vampire. A bit dark for my taste and very violent, but suspenseful.
