jody is pretty tough for a 16 yr old girl. thats the only reason she's still alive-for now. she was sleeping over at her friends house when a group of killers broke in and tried to slaughter everyone. she saw her friend spitted on a spear, along with her friends brother. very good book, and plenty scary...
