This is Balogh at her finest! I love this story of Anne Jewell, a teacher at Miss Martin's School for Girls, who is an unwed mother of a nine-year old son. She and Sydnam Butler, who is Wulfric Bedwyn's steward, meet each other in Wales at the Bedwyn estate. Anne and Sydnam are both haunted souls..........
