Red Dress Ink seems to have more misses for me than hits (somehow true chick-lit tends to leave me wondering if there was a plot somewhere and I missed it), but this one really worked for me. The main character, Leanne, is not another latte swilling city girl, climbing the corporate ladder (quickly or badly), having bad sex, and wishing she were still in college. Leanne and her family are much more real and completely different from those characters, which was a very refreshing change! I liked her and could really see how a person could end up in her situation. Was Joshua Reed's time with their family realistic? Possibly not, but it made for an interesting story!
