Oh my, but I had trouble with this book! First, I accidentally read #4 in the series before I read this one, which is #3. Bad idea. Things develop in the boyfriend situation in #4 that I would rather not have known while reading this.

Then, when I was about 100 pages into this one, I accidentally shipped it out on a swap instead of the book that the member had ordered. I looked EVERYWHERE in the house and car trying to find where I'd lost the book until the member messaged me that I'd sent the wrong book.

Sigh. I sent her the right book and gave her a credit to pay her back for shipping this one back to me.

So, after a two- or three-week delay, I got the book back and was able to finish it.

With all that drama and misfortune, I still liked the book. I didn't love it, but it was fun to read. I think it's the weakest of the first four in the series because the basic situation strikes me as a bit hokey. Even though she has no kids, Grace is somehow conned into chaperoning an unlikely field trip where high school kids are spending the night in a reputed haunted house with ghost-hunting instruments. A student is pushed down a stairway by a ghost--or maybe someone more worldly than that. Complications ensue.

I'm sorry, but the whole thing--including the eventual solution--seems a bit contrived to me.

Book #4, happily, is a lot better, so read this one to keep the events in Grace's life straight in your mind so you can continue the series with better books than this.
