A horrible plague is transforming light creatures into beings of darkness at Fablehaven.
Seth discovers the source of the problem, but the Sorenson's can't find a way to stop it. With nowhere to turn, the caretakers of Fablehaven must choose between the Sphinx who might be a traitor, and Vanessa, who they've put in the quiet box because she can't be trusted.
In spite of the trouble at Fablehaven, Kendra and other Knights of the Dawn must travel to Lost Mesa (another secret preserve) and try to recover one of the hidden artifacts before The Society of the Evening Star gets their hands on it.
The GRIP OF THE SHADOW PLAGUE shares more detail and insight to the goings on in this series, but doesn't reveal all. New and interesting characters are introduced while still moving forward with stories/subplots of characters introduced in previous novels.
I can't recommend this series highly enough. The world is amazing, the characters are intriguing, and the secrets keep the reader guessing! Mull reveals just enough to placate the reader's curiosity, but still leaves a dangling carrot or two.
I can't wait to learn the SECRETS OF THE DRAGON SANCTUARY!
