This is the 3rd book in The Regiment series and it differs markedly from the previous two. It was so different that I wasn't sure I was going to like it, especially as it is seen from the point of view of the enemy of the people we had learned to admire in the first two books.
But I stuck with it and was pleasantly surprised when I started to enjoy it. The book has an ending that is not what you were expecting from the build-up in the first four-fifths of the book.
