This book was over-hyped and very disappointing. I had a hard time believing many of the things about her life. Though I do believe she was a victim of emotional and physical abuse, the rest of her story is very unrealistic to me. With all the accidents and misfortune that befall the family, I do not believe that her Mother's potions and oils healed everyone and everything. The story of her path to BYU, Cambridge and Harvard seems very unlikely to me. There seem to be pieces missing in the journey.
I understand that this is a memoir and is written from the author's perspective. I'm sure she believes the things she has written, but I don't.
