Read this book for the Loretta Chase story. I love Chase and Kleypas and got the book for their stories. I didn't care for Catherine Anderson or Kathleen Woodiwiss's stories, personally. The Lisa Kleypas story was by far the weakest I've ever read from her and she is among my top five favorite authors. But the Loretta Chase story is long enough it is almost a mini-book and worth the whole for just that part. I'm keeping this one just for her story. Loved the characters and how they were developed.
This Mad Earl's Bride is part of the Scoundrels series. It can be read on its own but this is a nice follow up to Lord of Scoundrels. Bertie Trent is a key figure in this story and redeems himself nicely from his troublemaking in Lord of Scoundrels.
