This book which contains four novellas was very enjoyable. I must admit that my favorite story was the first one " I Take Thee". This story about a widow and a widower with two children is so heart-warming. The two struggle with their growing feelings for each other as each has gone through the painful death of a loved one.
The second story "Blessed Land" was good but slow moving, I felt. The story of a young woman in search of her sister was not as enjoyable as the first.
The third story "Promises Kept" . It is a story about a young woman whose at her fiance's death finds herself alone and in need. She is accepted into the home of a wealthy family and becomes companion to the elderly mother. I enjoyed this one as it was a real "page turner".
The last story "Freedom's Ring" is the story of a young widow and her infant daughter who must find a way to survive without any means of support. A friendly gentleman steps in to help her fulfill her dreams of settling in the New World. It was a tale of learning to trust. Fast moving, this was a great tale.
