What the book blurb says: This is a valuable new resource for the home, especially for families where reading aloud has become a tradition. It is beautifully illustrated and contains selections from the works of some of the bes-know writers of our time. It informs, enchants and leads to wondrous discoveries.

What I Say: Authors include Gerald Durrell, James Michener and Farley Mowat. Noted artist and illustrator John Butler's excellent illustrations are lifelike and full of interest.
