Moomintroll wakes up in the middle of the Arctic long winter night, while all his family is hibernating, and and experiences Winter and a host of other fantastic creatures.
This was recommended to me when I expressed my indifference to this series, but I found it quite boring - however some people really love the series. Perhaps I should have read it in childhood.
