This book is one reason I'm trying to review all books that I read. The book was released several years ago as THE VICARIOUS LIVER by Beth Amos.
Mattie Winston leaves her nursing job after finding her surgeon husband having sex with a coworker. Her best friend and town coroner, Izzy, hires Mattie as his assistant. When the other woman is found murdered, Mattie begins her own investigation to find the murderer.
