I'm a true crime buff. And this book just moved to the #2 spot on my list of best true crime books - just below Helter Skelter - although giving it a run for its money. I hate to say any true crime story is enthralling but this one is. Years ago I saw the moving Changeling and became intrigued with the background murder story. This book tells that story. The style of writing was like no other true crime I've read, reading more like a novel than a research paper.

Kudos to Mr. Clark for persevering and living a life of purpose. I can only be amazed at the life Mr. Clark lived both during and after time at the chicken ranch. The atrocities and horror suffered upon Mr. Clark are unfathomable. This is truly a story of bravery, courage, and the power of taking control of your own life.
