More or less meets the test of time, written in 1964, no mention of the cherry tree. The Native Americans come off sort of OK (except they lived in the wilderness, without roads, hmmmm.) Life was gay at Mt. Vernon. The American soldiers all had shoes, clean socks, and somewhat matching uniforms. I'm inclined to forgive the author from a presentism perspective.
