This is my first book by Jen Turano, but it will not be my last. It was a fun book to read and I enjoyed the humor immensely. The dialog was great, though perhaps a bit modern in a place or two. The beginning and end of the book were very fast-moving and interesting. I thought the story bogged down a bit in the middle, but that could have been just me.
I love the characters. Both the major and many minor characters were interesting and seemed liked real people. They often reminded me of people I have met along my path in life, so I thought they were very relatable. The plotline was a little far-fetched in places, but that added to the fun of the novel, rather than detracting from it.
This is a story of the upper class in New York City in the 1880's. If you'd like a fun, historical book, I recommend A Change of Fortune.
