Shemaine O'Hearn is falsely convicted of thievery because her fiance's grandmother wants her out of the way. She is shipped to America aboard a slave ship where she is sold to shipbuilder, Gage Thornton, who is looking for a nanny for his young son.
This is a great story of romance with enough suspense to keep things interesting. It was nice to see a story that lasted past the wedding, as many romance stories end at that point. I was impressed with the author and will be looking for more of her books now.
