My 6yr old whow will start 1st grade in the fall loved this book. Read it to me twice already all by herself and found the storry fun and the reading level not too challenging/discouraging! She has been reading "Step 1" type books from many series and this was one of our first "Step 2". Made for a great confidence building transition.
