This was such a sweet romance! There's really no drama at all - no drought, no money problems, no dogs/horses dying..the only bad thing happened just before the book starts. The heroine was born with an ugly facial birthmark and has given up on a family of her own. When her friend in Texas dies she agrees to marry her widower to help raise his daughter(they knew each other from the women sharing letters over the years). She arrives on the stagecoach along with her hubby by proxy's estranged brother. the hubby has died in a fire along with is sister and brother in law(before story starts) and hero received word and has come back to town after leaving because he was always 2nd best to his brother and felt he could never amount to anything living in his brother's town. They both want all 3 kids and agree to a marriage of convenience. Of course the kids seem to behave nearly perfectly and both know just what to do as parents :-) but such a sweet story - no one is stupid or selfish - and they grow to love each other. I was almost sniffing at the end and think this is one I'll re-read from time to time just for a nice easy read!
