An interesting concept: tattoo artist Brett Kavanaugh spends her days painting ladies and gents at The Painted Lady, her tattoo parlor. When a girl comes in asking for devotion tattoo, and then goes missing, she's the last one who's seen her. Unfortunately she's also just been sucked into a dangerous game of murder and mystery, and her brother - a detective on the Las Vegas Police - wants her to keep her nose out of it.
While the tattoos Brett's following aren't exactly unusual (an eagle neck tattoo, for instance), and they don't entirely figure in solving this mystery, I dig the concept of both a female tattoo artist plying her trade and accidentally solving mysteries. And maybe in the next book, she'll even get a few more tattoos herself!
