I've enjoyed Force's contemporary romances, but her first foray into historical romance was very disappointing. What happened? Stilted writing, one-dimensional characters, and historical red flags made it a bit hard to hang on to the end, but she did nail the bed sport! Which, btw, are normally my favorite bits, but even they couldn't transform this story into a worthwhile read. 2 stars.
